Woodcock Survey: 'Catch me if you can'
Post date: May 12, 2019 2:36:58 PM
James O'Reilly of University College Cork Irish Woodcock Project came to visit AbbeyleixBog over the May bank holiday weekend to survey for woodcock. The second evening he erected mist nets with the help of local volunteers. Using a decoy whilst playing the woodcock roding call, he managed to catch his first Irish summer breeding Woodcock. James is looking for people across the country to help with the survey. More detail on the project and how to get involved: http://bit.ly/2H40QZw. Thanks to all volunteers who came to help with setting up the nets.
