Another year passed with loads of activity on Abbeyleix Bog. Scoil Mhuire Abbeyleix fun walk organised by the parents' association, Biodiversity Ireland's Spring workshop on Squirrels & Pine Martens by Denise O'Meara and Andrew Harrington, The Heritage Council Heritage Officers' meeting, 'Awesome Amphibians' workshop by Collie Ennis of The Herpetological Society of Ireland, Irish Peatland Conservation Council guided visits for schools from Athy, Irish Environmental Network's flagship event for Biodiversity Week 2018 featuring Irish Wildlife Trust, The Vincent Wildlife Trust, WIT Biology, Groundwork and others.

A lot of our activities during the year was done in collaboration with other local organisations like Irish Wildlife Trust Laois/Offaly Branch, Portlaoise Men's Shed,Abbeyleix Heritage House, Laois County Council, Abbeyleix Tidy Towns, Mueller & O' Connell Bakery, Abbeyleix Manor, Dove House Abbeyleix, Laois Walks Festival, Abbeyleix FEC Art Department, Bat Conservation Ireland (Kildare), BirdWatch Ireland (Laois), and others already mentioned above. Continuous conservation and maintenance work is depended on loads individual volunteers, too many to mention. Regular individual photographers, as well as various members from clubs, i.e. Portlaoise Camera Club, Mountrath & District Camera Club, as well as Mountmellick Camera Club contribute towards the rich variety of photographs taken.

Thank you to every person, group & organisation who contributed towards the activities of Abbeyleix Bog during 2018 and we wish you all a great 2019! The last set of pictures include images not previously mentioned, like the visit of the international delegates of GBIF: The Global Biodiversity Information Facility, the Timahoe National School pupils who took part in Junior BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition 2018, Castlecomer Community School TY students.
